| Bio: | My name is Michael. (I live on the second floor....) My newly-adopted city is the Portland, OR metro region, having moved here in January, 2008. I hope to start a new chapter in my life with this change of venue. With the physical change, I have initiated a sea-change in other ways as well by setting myself on an actual career path in oneology (the study of wine) complete with certification courses and eventually a diploma in wine (the equivalent of a master's degree) through the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) based in London. I am not sure where the journey will lead just yet, but I regret I have only one liver to give to my newly-chosen field of study.
My previous educational training is in philosophy, and it has well-prepared me for life. Cooking is a passion, and I sometimes engage in food porn. My humor is often sardonic. If such is off-putting for you, eh. You have been warned.
I am doing time on planet earth. I am but one voice for my tribe. I have decided, though, to light a candle rather than curse the darkness. I live my life without regret and am fully engaged in the world. As has been said, "If not now, when?"

This journal is a passing record of and witness to my life in addition to being self-medicating therapy. The great undulating mass of the mundane is occasionally peppered with the spice of the profound. It is written by me for me and in whatever manner I choose.
